Plant more trees, my friends

By means of trees, wildlife could be conserved, pollution decreased and the beauty of our landscapes enhanced. This is the way, or at least one of the ways, to spiritual, moral, and cultural regeneration.

Save life!

I don't hold animals superior or even equal to humans. The whole case for behaving decently to animals rests on the fact that we are the superior species. We are the species uniquely capable of imagination, rationality, and moral choice - and that is precisely why we are under an obligation to recognize and respect the rights of animals.
"True benevolence or compassion, extends itself through the whole of existence and sympathizes with the distress of every creature capable of sensation."

"The problem of climate change is so large that it can't be solved by voluntary individual responses. It requires an economy-wide solution, i.e. one that limits the total carbon intake of the economy."

First floating solar plant,India

First Floating Solar Power Plant to be built in India

Indian Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has kicked in a project for Floating Solar Power Station in Kolkata, India.
An expert team is working on this project since an year for the development of the prototype. A demonstration project for Floating Solar Power Station is developed by a team led by SP Gon Choudhury, Director at Development Consultants Private Limited (DCL Group) and Vice Chairman at Calcutta Institute of Technology.
Vikram Solar Pvt. Ltd., an Indian panel maker, is now working upon manufacturing the solar panels for South Asian nation’s first floating solar power plant on a lake in eastern India, expected to launch by December this year.
Vikram Solar Pvt., an Indian panel maker, won a contract to build the South Asian nation’s first floating solar power plant on a lake in eastern India.
The 15-kilowatt pilot plant will be constructed by December on top of a 1,400-square-foot (130-square-meter) platform anchored to the lakebed next to Kolkata’s New Town Eco Park, said S.P. Gon Chaudhuri, a member of the governing body of the West Bengal Renewable Energy Development Agency.
“Acquiring land for solar projects is a very big problem now,” Chaudhuri said by phone. “Water bodies are available in plenty.”
The project will study whether situating a solar installation above water helps to boost generation by cooling the panels, he said. Excessive heat can reduce the efficiency of solar modules. The project will also examine the effects of corrosion and evaporation from the lake, he said.
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy is financing the project, which will cost about 2 million rupees ($32,700) to build and require another 2 million rupees for research, Chaudhuri said.
The 20,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity generated annually will be sold to the grid at 8.9 rupees a unit, he said.
